Lots of fun was had on our most recent Tombleson Holiday adventure in Quebec City. We saw some beautiful sights, ate some amazing food and had such a great time. We walked, and we walked, and we walked to see everything. (okay we took the bus once or twice)
We liked it so much we would like to go back someday in wintertime to see what the city looks like covered in snow.
Here is the old fortification walls that surround old Upper Quebec City. They might look like Harry Potter in Universal Studios but these are a lot older
We saw a lot of old churches in Quebec City. Here is the beautiful Cathedral-Basilica of Notre Dame. It is a very old church with a gorgeous inside. We were lucky and got to tour the crypt. It was very clean no spiders or cobwebs.
Jon loved the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac hotel so much that he must have taken a million pictures of it. The bar in it had a drink for $300. No, Jon did not get to try that drink.
Quebec City has an active military unit in the Citadel that we toured. It has very interesting history and even has a royal goat given to them by the Queen.
Here are some pictures of the lower old town Quebec city where Samuel De Champlain started the first permanent habitation for New France in 1608.
Our new favorite bar was in a building built in 1751. Amazing beer and they played Luke Bryan!!!! Ask Adelina how good the Apricot beer was.
We took a bus to go see the Montmorency Falls. The say it is taller than Niagara falls. We didn't measure to check but they are probably right. We took a Gondola down to the bottom and walked 500 steps back to the top and walked over the bridge.
We went up to the Observatory to see a great view of the city and the Saint Lawrence River.
We took a tour of the Quebec Province Parliament and learned all about the amazing old building and how their Province government works.
We saw our favorite mountain right before we landed back home in PDX tired but glad we went to discover the city of Quebec. .
