Tombleson Roadtrip to Victoria

We've been pretty busy this year and finally had to buckle down to get a vacation in before summer was over so we decided to road trip it up to Victoria.
We drove up through Port Angeles and had a little time to kill before the ferry ride

We walked up this awesome ramp to a lookout.

Then it was an hour and a half to get to Victoria.

Once in Victoria we were able to check into our hotel and go explore the city!

We checked out China Town

Cool old buildings

We walked around Beacon Hill Park

We topped off our 10 miles of walking with a Scotch flight at the Irish Times

The next day we took a tour of the Parliament building

Then we did a little more walking around and checked out Fisherman's Wharf

From Fisherman's Wharf we took a water taxi over the the Point Ellis House for afternoon tea

We were so excited when our tea came. The scones were AMAZING

We walked back to the hotel and decided to take a nice coastal drive and stop at some of the lookouts.

We stopped at the old Ross Bay Cemetery. There were some really interesting headstones.

That night we caught some of the Busker Festival and got to enjoy how beautiful Victoria is at night

Day 3 was our trip a little bit out of town to go to the Butchart Gardens. It was so beautiful. It looked like it might rain but we got lucky, the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

After the Butchart Gardens we hit up the Butterfly Gardens that was nearby

On our way back to town we stopped at the Craigdarroch Castle

Our last day we started out with a nice Irish Breakfast (no we didn't just go to the Irish Times while we were there!)
This included a Cider with a shot of Jameson Whiskey

Then we were ready to hit up the BC Museum and check out the Mammoths and the First Nations exhibits.

They also had this cool exhibit that was an old timey town

A snack we had before dinner, Buttery Chicken Curry Poutine.

Then after some relaxing it was time to bid Victoria farewell in style. With a nice dinner at the Harbour House! Table side caesar salad. YUM! and Chateaubriand (delicious Filet Mignon carved table side)

Then at 5am the next morning it was time to start our trek back!

So Sleepy!

Good bye Victoria! We had a blast!
