Fun At The Beach

After being stuck at home for the winter we wanted to get out and take Annabel to the beach for the day. So we all jumped in the car and headed to Cannon Beach.

When we got there it was pouring down rain but after a little while it cleared up and turned out to be a beautiful day. Annabel had such a great time running around the beach, going into a couple of pet boutiques and going to Ecola State Park.

Both of my loves posing in front of Haystack Rock

Running and playing.

Ecola State Park was beautiful

Tillamook Light House

We loved all the little shops and especially loved Bruce's Candy Kitchen where we got some chocolate. I think Annabel's favorite store was Puppy Love where the lady gave her a bunch of treats, or the coffee shop where the lady gave her a giant dog biscuit.

Mmm rum ball, sea salted caramel and toffee

On the way back Annabel was so exhausted she slept the whole way. I think she was dreaming of running on the beach.

Kiss Me I'm 29% Irish

Well Jon is 29% Irish so I think that makes me Irish by marriage ;P

This St. Patty's Day was spent like most, eating some yummy food.

We made sure to wear our green

And danced a little jig.

And toasted with our green drinks

We made a yummy corned beef and Irish soda bread

And for desert some shamrock cookies

Annabel may have had one too many cookies!

A Tombleson Valentine's Day

I know Valentine's Day has come and gone and it's almost St. Patty's Day but I promised to post a V Day blog so here it is!

We started our weekend by taking the kids to their first hockey game and cheering on our beloved Winterhawks.

We had a great time and best of all the Winterhawks won!

When we got home my mom had surprised us with a Valentine's balloon and some almond roca :)

The next morning Jon got up super early and I heard him walking around a bit while I slept in. When I finally got up we put Annabel in her V day best and got ready for the day.

Jon had snuck in some balloons and flowers into the bedroom. Also, some of my favorite chocolates. When I walked out of the room I found roses everywhere.

The roses led me to more balloons and this!

Jon doesn't do things small! He always goes all out!
Don't worry I didn't forget poor Jon. I got him a fancy heart box of chocolates and a book that we can fill out to tell our story.

We had a Valentine's run (me inside on treadmill and Jon outside with Annabel) before we headed out.

We had reservations for Afternoon Tea at the Heathman, one of our favorite Afternoon Teas! 3 tiers of goodness and some great tea.

We walked around downtown and headed to some fancy chocolate shops to buy a couple peices of fancy chocolate. We got some Swiss and some Belgium. But in reality we were so stuffed with sweets from the tea we both didn't really want much chocolate haha.

We also swung by finnigans and I picked out a stuffed animal. When I saw this bunny I was in love! So was annabel when she saw it. I keep having to remind her that the bunny is mine!!

We stopped at Brasserie Montamartre for some Duck Fat Frites and a drink before we walked back to our car and went to dinner.

We had dinner at Alexis Restaurant on Burnside which was AMAZING. including this fried cheese.

It was so cool, he brought out this flaming cheese then squeezed (lemon? Ouzo?) on it and yelled something oppa! And a huge flame went up. It was also pretty dang tasty.

Unfortunately Annabel did not get to go with us on our V day adventure but we made it up to her on Sunday by spending most of the day with her and cuddling with her while we played Lego Hobbit.

Annabel's Birthday Celebration

Last Sunday was Annabel's 3rd "Birthday" and it was officially a year ago that she came into our lives.

We started the morning off giving her a present, which she loved

Next we baked Annabel a yummy doggie cake and we all enjoyed a slice

Later it was time for more presents. What's better than her favorite bones? A giant bone!

Then it was time for the real fun. We took her on a nice hike to Eagle Creek. It was muddy but beautiful.

We did about 5 miles and Annabel was tuckered out on the way home.

After we got home she wanted to chew on her new bone again.

Little did she know that she had one more present left. A giant dental stick treat. She took it and ran around the house whining until she finally went outside to bury it.

I think Annabel had a pretty good birthday and we are so happy to have her in our family.
