On Safari

Last weekend we went down to Winston to check out the Drive Thru Safari. We were not disappointed! We had a blast.

After the Safari we headed over to Roseburg and took a quick pit stop to the Douglas County Museum. It was a cute museum with some cool artifacts, snakes and a few hands on exhibits.

We checked into our hotel and decided to hit up downtown Roseburg to see the sites. When we were about to reach our destination we noticed the streets were closed. We found a nearby lot stating Parade Parking. Turns out we were about to catch their Graffiti Weekend parade!

But first, we headed to a pub to taste some beers.

And then the show began. Car after car. The Parade lasted at least a couple of hours, constantly adding new cars.

Mid parade we headed into a Mexican restaurant and had some Delicious food and Margarita

After the parade we walked a few blocks to find The Lane House which was built in 1854

The next day as we made our way back to home we made a few pit stops. First being the old Rochester Bridge, one of the few covered bridges in the area.

We then made our way down to Historic Oakland to check out one of my favorite things, old little down towns!

You can't go to an old timey town without going to an old timey soda fountain

Old photo of the same building found in the Oakland History Museum

We then headed back home, swinging by to pick Annabel up from "Grandma's" who was so excited to be home she was running around everywhere jumping up onto her bed we had placed on this chair and rolling around almost tumbling to the ground. :)

A Tombleson Farming Extravaganza

With fall finally here it's time to head out to the farms and make cider, find our way out of corn and get some pumpkins!

The adventures started a couple of weeks ago at the Cider Festival. The farm is part of an original land claim in the area and we got to tour the old house and barn before pressing our cider.

You can't have fall without doing a corn maze! So we headed out to Sauvie Island to do one of the only dog friendly corn mazes out there at Bella Organic Farms.

With Annabel in her batgirl costume we headed out to get lost, then Annabel got to pick out her pumpkin.

Annabel of course wanted a white pumpkin so it would match her.

The next day we headed out to one of our favorite farms, Pomeroy Farms. Unfortunately Annabel couldn't come but we still had a great time. They had a civil war encampment with reinactors, a hay ride and pumpkin lane!
