Exploring our Roots

This weekend we took advantage of the rain to go indoors and explore our Oregon roots by hitting up a couple of museums in Oregon City.

We first hit up the Museum of Oregon Territory and saw some pretty cool Native American artifacts and some old pioneer items.

We saw this amazing pharmacy display that contained many old medicines, medical equipment and prescriptions.

There was a window with a great view of the oldest PGE electric sites.

Oregon also holds the original Plat of San Francisco which was filed in Oregon City which was the closest place for them to file to be a city at the time.

We made a pit stop at the Highland Stillhouse and I had a yummy steak and mushroom pie.

We then headed to the end of the Oregon Trail. There were a lot of neat things to see as well as some hands on things. I got to walk around in an Oregon Boot, make a doll and make a journal.

The funnest part was probably dressing up in old pioneer clothes. We had a blast doing that.

We had a great time learning more about our ancestors who came over the Oregon Trail to make their homes in Oregon.

Annabel's First Slumber Party

Annabel had her first slumber party with her best friend Kiki this weekend.

They always start their play dates with a race, taking turns chasing each other.

There was a little bit of relaxing in the sun

Before heading to the park and going for a long walk.

Afterwards, everyone was pooped.

After some relaxing...

Annabel took Kiki to her Grandma's house.

They had so much fun and after a busy day they got a nice burger for dinner.

We all stayed up late watching a Scooby Doo movie.

We stayed up so late the girls fell asleep watching the movie.

I had to wake the poor girls up to tuck them into bed.

But Kiki wanted to sleep with Annabel.

The next morning they were all refreshed for some more wrestling.

They have had such a fun exciting weekend Annabel is so pooped!

But she is going to miss Kiki and she is sad to see her go home.

Valentine's Day At The Coast

This Valentine's Day we decided to leave the pooch with Grandma and have a romantic getaway at the coast.

We stayed at a cute Inn and had a nice dinner at the Wayfarer in Cannon Beach.

In the morning we had breakfast in bed and made mimosas with our champagne.

Before we headed home checked out the beach near the Inn, went to Hug Point, and Arcadia Beach

We had a great time but we were happy to get back to our little Annabel, and she was happy to be home.
